High School Varsity

Varsity Team divers focus on skills and dives necessary for being a competitive high school diver. Varsity Team divers need to learn all dive categories and will use all board levels for training, but competition will be focused on 1 meter. Varsity Team divers can be invited to the White or Blue National Teams.

Ages

Divers entering 9th-12th grade.

When

Off Season, March-October: Choose to train 1-4 days per week.

High School Season, November-February: 3+ days per week


Where

Practice locations vary based on team schedule and pool availability.

Practices

Varsity Team practices can be 1.5 - 2 hours. Practice times vary based on team schedule and pool availability.


Meets

Attending meets outside the OHSAA high school season for Varsity Team divers is not required but highly encouraged. All meets attended by a diver's high school team or meets AFD coaches deem necessary during the OHSAA high school season are required.

AFD TEAM GEAR

AFD team suits and apparel are not required for Varsity Team divers.

During the High School season, each school will have specific requirements for suits and apparel.
