“HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A MEET”
USA Diving: (Required for Travel Team divers & anyone else interested in & able to compete at USA Diving meets) ***
1) You must become a USA Diving member – Go to the USAD site & click on the “Membership” tab on the left of the page. Scroll down to “join USA diving”. Follow the directions on what type of membership you would like. Most of our meets you will need to be a “competitive Gold” member ($75.00). This will be a once per year fee, payable by credit card. Our club is listed under “Lake Erie” not Ohio.
2) You must register with www.divemeets.com – this is the national format for processing meet entries. It is all done on-line. This is a free membership.
3) Now that you are a USAD & a divemeets.com member - you must now sign up for the specific meet you will be attending. Meet sign up is done through www.divemeets.com. Log in & follow the meet sign up procedure. You can get to www.divemeets.com through the USAD site (when you find the meet & it’s info) or you can just go directly to divemeets.com. You will need to use a credit card to pay for each event your child competes in. Prices vary but it is usually $30.00 per event (1 meter/3 meter/ platform, etc)
There is more sign up information & other information concerning the meet, location, times, rules, dive & age requirements, dives sheets & charts, etc on the USAD site as well as on www.divemeets.com.
Ohio Diving League (ODL):
1) Go to the www.americanflyersdiving.com site & find the meet you will attend under the “meets & results” page. Click the “sign up here!!!” & then just fill in the form.
2) Next you will need to download an ODL dive sheet for 1 or both event(s) (1 meter & 3 meter). (The dive sheet & requirements are also located on the top portion of the “meets & results” page. Just click the link & print). The requirements are also located on the bottom portion of the dive sheet.
If you are unsure of what the #’s & dives mean, click here for the degree of difficulty chart. (You can also find this on the “downloads” page. It is the first one listed). This list’s all the dives & their difficulty ratings. You can compare these to the ODL dive sheet & requirements (this doesn’t list jumps & entries though).
3) Finish by filling out as much of the dive sheet as you can in pencil please. I will double check all sheet’s because changes are inevitable.
4) Make sure to bring in a check (payable to the American Flyers) or cash BEFORE the meet.
